1. Parties and default rule
The Artist sells the artwork to the Buyer. RELICT is not the seller and does not operate a buyer refund fund. Claims about the work or repayment of its price must be directed to the Artist, using Escrow.com's process for the transaction funds. Platform support deals with account and Platform operation only.
The default is no voluntary change-of-mind return. The Artist may expressly offer a fifteen-day voluntary return for a particular work. The selected option must appear in the sale agreement accepted by both parties before payment. It cannot be changed retrospectively. The exceptions in section 4 apply regardless of the voluntary-return selection.
2. Cancellation before completion
Before both parties accept the sale agreement, a cart entry or proposed purchase may be abandoned subject to any separately accepted reservation terms. After agreement, cancellation requires a right under the accepted agreement, a mutual agreement of the Artist and Buyer, or a right arising under applicable law. Neither party may treat contact with RELICT as cancellation of the sale.
Escrow.com controls the cancellation and refund of funds it holds under its agreement. The parties must submit any required cancellation consent and must not give inconsistent release instructions. On a cancelled or unsuccessful sale, RELICT earns no Platform Fee. Escrow.com, banks, carriers and insurers may retain or charge fees under their own agreements; RELICT cannot waive them. The Buyer bears buyer-side third-party charges as accepted, and each party remains responsible for its own breach and expressly allocated obligations.
3. Optional fifteen-day voluntary return
If the Artist selected the fifteen-day option, the Buyer may give written notice to the Artist within fifteen calendar days after physical delivery. Notice must identify the transaction and clearly state the decision to return the work. The Buyer must also notify Escrow.com through the applicable transaction process promptly and before any relevant provider deadline. The optional return period does not automatically extend the provider's inspection or fund-holding period.
The Buyer must dispatch the return within seven calendar days after timely return notice, using the return arrangements agreed with the Artist and Convelio. The Buyer must keep the work in its delivered condition, avoid alteration, restoration or use beyond reasonable inspection, include all supplied documents and accessories, and use protective packing and adequate transit insurance. The Buyer must retain proof of dispatch and tracking.
All return expenses are borne by the Buyer, including packing, collection, return delivery, insurance, duties, taxes and provider or bank charges applicable to the return. Original delivery and separately charged third-party services are not included in the Artwork Sale Price refund unless the relevant provider or accepted agreement expressly provides otherwise. A separately owed cost does not permit an undisclosed reduction of the stated Artwork Sale Price refund.
The Artist must authorize the Artwork Sale Price refund through escrow following receipt and reasonable inspection of a timely, compliant return. The Artist must report any claimed return-condition discrepancy promptly with evidence. A disputed deduction is not decided by RELICT; the parties must use the applicable sale and provider dispute procedures. An Artist may not defeat a valid optional return solely because the original escrow disbursement has occurred and must provide the funds needed to honor the obligation.
4. Non-delivery, wrong artwork and damage
If the work is not delivered as required by the sale agreement, the wrong work is delivered, or the work is delivered damaged within the Artist's delivery responsibility, the Buyer is entitled to a full refund of the Artwork Sale Price through escrow, regardless of whether a voluntary return option was offered. An estimate passing without delivery is not automatically a breach of an expressly different agreed delivery deadline; the accepted agreement governs the Artist's delivery obligation.
The Buyer must promptly notify the Artist and Escrow.com, provide reasonably available evidence and preserve the work and packaging where relevant. For a damaged or incorrect work, the parties must arrange its return where required by the accepted agreement or escrow process. The Buyer bears return expenses under this policy. If delivery never occurred, no physical return is required. If a return is unsafe, impossible or lawfully restricted, the parties must follow the relevant provider's documented claims process rather than ship unlawfully.
"Full refund" means the entire Artwork Sale Price, including the portion allocated to the Artist's Platform Fee. It does not promise that Escrow.com, a bank, Convelio, an insurer or a public authority refunds its separately charged fees, shipping, taxes or duties. The Artist may not reduce the Artwork Sale Price refund by retaining a Platform Fee. RELICT must reverse or return any Platform Fee received on a sale that is fully unwound, without thereby assuming the Artist's refund obligation.
This exception does not cover damage caused by the Buyer after delivery, deliberate misuse, alteration or a problem fully and accurately disclosed and accepted as part of the work's condition. Other inaccurate statements or breaches of the Artist's warranties remain governed by the sale agreement and applicable law; the absence of a voluntary return right does not authorize misrepresentation.
5. Escrow processing and claims
The Artist and Buyer must use Escrow.com's applicable inspection, rejection, cancellation and dispute procedures. Funding, acceptance and release deadlines remain governed by the provider agreement. RELICT cannot freeze or reverse funds contrary to that agreement or order the provider to waive its fees.
Where proceeds have already been released, the Artist remains obliged to provide the refund funds required by a valid contractual refund and to arrange the refund through the available escrow process. This is an obligation of the Artist; it is not a guarantee that Escrow.com retains those funds or that RELICT will advance them. The parties must obtain any provider approval needed for processing.
Send artwork and price-refund claims to the Artist using the contact information in the sale agreement. Send provider-service claims to that provider. Send Platform malfunction or account requests to info@relict.cloud. A message to RELICT does not suspend another party's claim deadline. Nothing in this policy excludes a right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
