First in Switzerland

Crédit Agricole next bank has become the first bank in Switzerland to put Avaloq's new mobile banking system into operation, following a pilot programme for the local market. The deployment places the bank ahead of domestic peers in adopting the vendor's latest mobile offering.

The application is delivered through a software-as-a-service setup and is intended to give the bank's customers a secure and straightforward way to manage banking on mobile devices.

What the app does

Through the new app, users can handle more day-to-day banking tasks on their phones, including a broader set of payment and investment actions. The system also includes current authentication standards and real-time push alerts for day-to-day banking use.

Avaloq said the system will be updated on a regular basis, with additional functions introduced in line with CA next bank's business requirements and customer needs. The architecture separates the front-end interface from core backend systems, which is intended to help the bank add features more quickly while preserving stability across its digital services.

CA next bank is the first bank in Switzerland to bring Avaloq's new mobile banking system into production after piloting it for the local market.

Faster change, wider self-service

According to the source material, the deployment gives CA next bank more scope to widen digital self-service functions and introduce later changes at a faster pace as customer needs shift.

Maxime Charton, chief digital & information officer at CA next bank, said the launch of the new app is an important step in strengthening the bank's digital banking services, adding that clients expect a simple and reliable way to manage their finances on a smartphone and that this was a key focus throughout the project. Charton said close work with Avaloq allowed the bank to pilot the solution in the Swiss market, refine it based on user feedback and become the first bank in Switzerland to bring it into production.

Vendor's Swiss milestone

Christian Haux, Avaloq Switzerland and Liechtenstein managing director, said the go-live with CA next bank marks the first deployment of the vendor's new Mobile Banking solution in Switzerland. He said it demonstrates how close collaboration with financial institutions helps shape solutions around real-world needs and makes new capabilities available to the broader client community.

Earlier this year, CMB Monaco went live on the integrated Avaloq and Aladdin Wealth platform, streamlining its front-to-back-office operations — a separate deployment involving the same vendor.
