HSBC Private Bank has moved to strengthen its regional presence with a series of senior appointments across India, Singapore, and China-facing operations. The bank has recruited three desk heads and a leader for its Global India franchise, drawing talent from UBS and Bank of Singapore.

Vivek Pandohi, who has spent the past decade in senior positions at HSBC Private Bank in the UAE, will take charge of the Global India franchise in the Middle East. Most recently responsible for the bank's UAE Global India & Expat business, Pandohi will now oversee Global India coverage across Middle East markets, with a mandate to broaden coverage across the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Harjeet Singh joins from Bank of Singapore, where he worked for nine years, most recently as managing director and market head for the Global South Asia business. At HSBC, Singh will run one of the bank's Global India desks in Singapore, supporting the business in the region and adding to capabilities in what the bank described as a strategic client segment.

Lay Hong Tan has been hired from UBS Singapore, where she served as market team head. In her new role, Tan will lead a Singapore domestic coverage team focused on ultra-high net worth and high net worth families in Singapore, as well as Mandarin-speaking clients in the region.

Jay See, most recently a China coverage specialist at Credit Suisse/UBS, has been assigned to strengthen HSBC's links across Greater China and Southeast Asia, while also supporting the bank's China franchise. This appointment underscores the bank's focus on cross-border wealth flows.

These hires reflect HSBC Private Bank's commitment to expanding its capabilities in key Asian markets, particularly in serving the needs of wealthy families and cross-border clients. The bank's focus on Global India and Greater China aligns with broader trends in wealth creation and family office activity in these regions.

The appointments signal a competitive talent market in Asian private banking.
